Dear teacher, committee member, neighbor,
I just wanted to let you know that Johnny, I, my husband was not able to
complete his homework assignment, make brownies for the bake sale, remove the crates from behind the garage as promised.
Yesterday we had a set of unforeseen circumstances starting with a power outage, flooded basement, alarm system alert and ending with an emergency room visit, influx of electricians and plumbers, a visit by the Police.
I'll spare you the gory details, but mostly I wanted to apologize and assure you that the homework assignment will be done tonight, I will make a double batch of brownies for the next fundraiser,we will get the garage area cleaned up this weekend.
This certainly isn't what we had planned, and I hope you will understand the situation.
